Mercedes-Benz GL-Class recall affects nearly 69 vehicles of 2014 model-year. Involved in the recall are GL350 Bluetec 4Matic, GL450 4Matic, GL550 4Matic and GL63 AMG Sport Utility Vehicles. Only cars manufactured between November 4 and November 15, 2013, are affected.
According to a report made by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the second-row foldable seat bottom may not fold down low enough to allow access to the child safety seat anchors. This may increase the risk of injuries during a collision. The automaker reports that there have been no owner complaints concerning the problem.
The automaker will notify owners of the affected cars starting May, 2014. Dealers will inspect the vehicles and replace the second-row seat parts free of charge. Owners with questions about Mercedes-Benz GL-Class recall can contact Mercedes-Benz at 800-367-6372.
