Baby Trend car seat recall affects nearly 17,000 Baby Trend Trendz Fastback 3-in-1 child-safety seats. Affected are the following child car seat models:
- FB60070 (Granite)
- FB60408 (Jellybean)
The car seats were built between October 2011 and July 2013.
The problem with the aforementioned car seats is that when the car seat is used with its five-point harness, it may be hard to unlatch the buckle of the harness. If this happens, it will be difficult for parents to take children out of the seat during emergency situations. If the buckle is stuck, it cannot be opened by depressing the release button. This may increase the risk of injuries during an accident or a crash.
Replacement buckles will be provided to the affected owners free of charge as soon as they are available. The manufacturer has not yet provided the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration with an owner notification schedule, however all the owners will be contacted by mail. If your child-safety car seat is affected by Baby Trend car seat recall you can contact the NHTSA’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 for more information.
