Nearly 25,000 vehicles are affected by the new Ford Transit Connect recall. Model-year 2014 Ford Transit Connect vehicles are covered. The affected vehicles were all built between August 1, 2013, and July 10, 2014.
The problem in the aforementioned vehicles is that the fuel and vapor lines may not have been installed correctly. These two components may make contact that may result in an abrasion to the lines and a fuel leak. If this happens, fire risk may be increased.
Dealers will inspect the affected vehicles and replace the affected lines free of charge. Ford started notifying Transit Connect owners last month. Owners can call the automaker at 866-436-7332 for more information about the Transit Connect recall.
