What is the reason behind the Mazda recall?

Mazda Japan informs that the MAZDA3, MAZDA6 and Mazda CX-5 vehicles have issues in the fuel systems of the diesel engines. This problem may become the reason of fuel leaks, as well as stalling engines.  Furthermore, according to the information that Mazda provided, fastening force of the injector mounting nut has defects. As a consequence, it may lead to great pressure on the injector gasket. Sadly, if this happens, the gas will probably blow through the cylinder head. As a result, the oil may get carbonized and can end up clogging the oil strainer.

In addition to that, Mazda states that other complications are also possible. In this case, it is worth to refer to voltage changes that may occur in the injector control circuit. It may lead to short circuits and blown fuses, which can cause a stalled engine.

The company says that dealers are going to ensure that the injector mounting nuts are tight. They also have the responsibility of checking the hydraulic pressure. In case dealers notice problems with pressure, they will replace the fuel return hoses. It is also true that Mazda points out that there are no injuries or deaths because of these defects.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) didn’t make any announcement whether the Mazda recall refers to vehicle owners in the U.S.
