Mazda Tribute Hybrid recall affects more than 400 model-year 2008 Mazda Tribute Hybrids. The crossovers were built between October 10, 2006, and May 23, 2008.
The problem in the affected hybrid crossovers is that the hybrid system could fail, causing the electronics to overheat. If this happens, the powertrain may shut down, and a stall-like situation will occur, increasing the risk of a collision.
The auto manufacturer will start notifying all affected owners about the recall on November 3. The dealers will inspect the affected crossovers and replace the original motor electronics coolant pump with an improved one. The repairs will be carried out free of charge. Owners with questions may call Mazda at 248-295-7859 for more information about the Mazda Tribute Hybrid recall.
