Summary:

Bentley is recalling 27 My 2009 Continental Flying Spur and Continental Flying Spur speed vehicles. There is the potential for the center rear seat belt upper guide bracket to distort in the event of a frontal impact. This distortion could result in the center rear seat occupant traveling further forwards than the design intends.

Consequence:

In the event of a crash, a seat occupant may not be properly restrained increasing the risk of personal injury.

Remedy:

Dealers will replace the seat belt guide bracket free of charge. The recall began in February 2009.

Before lemon laws existed, if the vehicle didn’t work properly or was always breaking down car owners were in the power of the manufacturer or auto repair shop and had to continually pay for expensive repairs out of their own pocket. In addition to the waste of money, constant repairs forced vehicle owners to find other means of transportation while the car was in the shop.

Lemon laws make life easier not only for consumers but also for manufacturers because it allows companies to learn from their mistakes, improve customer service, and be aware of any problems customers may be having with their cars beforehand, in order to avoid a lawsuit.

Lemon Laws were established to protect consumers’ rights to drive a car that is safe and in good working condition. If something is wrong with the vehicle the consumer may contact the manufacturer to make corrections. If the same problem occurs 2-4 and more times and isn’t solved, the lemon law makes it possible to seek legal recourse.

Pursuing a claim under the CA Lemon Law the consumer should know about certain requirements. A basic requirement is that all the defects should be detected within the warranty period and the dealer or manufacturer should be given a certain amount of time to make reasonable number of repair attempts.
