Nearly 25,000 vehicles are affected by the new Toyota Sienna recall. Affected are model-years 2015 Toyota Sienna minivans manufactured between September 2 and November 14, 2014.
The problem in the affected vehicles is that if the curtain-side airbags deploy the second-row overhead assist handles might detach. If this occurs, the passengers will get injured. Toyota is unaware about any crashes or injuries resulted by the problem.
Toyota will start notifying affected owners about the Toyota Sienna recall on January 15. Dealers will inspect and fix the headliner near the second-row overhead assist handles. The repairs will be carried out free of charge. Owners can contact Toyota at 800-331-4331 for more information about the recall.
